Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. Inpatient subjects of either sex >18 years from Emergency Wards and ICU suspected/diagnosed with severe sepsis or septic shock. b. The willingness of the patientsâ?? legal representatives to give written informed and signed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. Subjects discharged against medical advice. b. Subjects requiring surgical intervention c. Admission for primary burns d. Admission following coronary artery bypass graft
