Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients >18 of age Patients undergoing elective gastric surgery, hepato-biliary, pancreatic and colorectal surgery ASA I –III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any patient under 18 yrs of age Pregnant and lactating women Diabetic patients will not be given preoperative carbohydrate supplementation, all other components of protocol will be followed

To study the compliance with the protocol variables, amount of fluid administered, rate of complications, length of hospital and postoperative stay in patients undergoing major gastrointestinal cancer surgery.Timepoint: within 30 days after hospital discharge
