Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Uncomplicated phacoemulsification surgery in our institution 2) Capsulotomy done by Continuous Curvilinear Capsulorrhexis (CCC) 3) Foldable IOL implantation 4) Absence of primary PCO

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Conditions like diabetes, pseudoexfoliation, Uveitis, trauma which may accelerate the process of PCO formation 2. Patients with glaucoma, any corneal or retinal pathology which may not lead to improvement of vision following Nd YAG capsulotomy

AcrySof IOLS have a low incidence of PCO when compared to PMMA IOLsTimepoint: Acrysof iol developed pco in 12 percent cases whereas in PMMA lenses its 30 percent. Acrysof iol developed pco in 3 yrs whereas PMMA iol developed pco in 2 years
