Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiology physical status I â??III adult patients undergoing surgery under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Patients with neurological disease Coagulation defects or patients on medications affecting coagulation Infection at local site

To investigate the association of first puncture success (a successful subarachnoid space placement of the needle achieved by only one skin puncture with no re-direction of spinal needle) and number of attempts (number of skin punctures and needle redirections) with factors based on characteristics of the patient, the provider, the technique and equipment in the Indian populationTimepoint: Not applicable
