Intervention1: Fludrocortisone.: â?¢For those on antihypertensive therapy: Gradual reduction in dosage of blood pressure lowering agent/agents at weekly intervals. until target BP 130/70 is achieved

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Senior citizens >65 years. 2. Cognitive scores between20-27(using MOCA) 3. Blood pressure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Acute illness. 2. Moderate to severe dementia 3. Diseases with hemodynamic instability. 4. Uncontrolled diabetes 5. Depression 6. Delirium. 7. Total illiteracy.

1. Percentage of participants in intervention group with edema, hypokalemia, elevated blood pressure of â?¥160/90 on Fludrocortisone. 2. Occurrence of any serious adverse event. Timepoint: 1.Safety visits to look for adverse effects. 2.MOCA,KMMSE scores are assessed at beginning,after 4 weeks and end of study.

1. Improvement in mean cognitive scores of MOCA/ kannada translated Hindi MMSE before and after intervention among intervention and control groups. 2. Percentage of people with improvement in cognitive scores of â?¥ 3 among intervention and control groups. 3. Percentage of participants in intervention group with edema, hypokalemia, elevated blood pressure of â?¥160/90 on Fludrocortisone. 4. Occurrence of any serious adverse event. Timepoint: Percentage of people with improvement in cognitive scores of â?¥ 3 among intervention and control groups.
