Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All preterm newborn babies (32-36 wks) delivered by normal vaginal and cesarean delivery at SBVP hospital Meerut who are living within 5 km radius of SBVP hospital, and who give consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Length of umbilical cord • meconium stained amniotic fluid with non vigorous babies, • multiple births (twins, triplets), • babies of Rh negative mothers, • babies born with any major congenital anomalies • cord prolapse, and cord anomalies like true knots
