Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Weight between 50-70kg • ASA physical status I-II • Those scheduled for elective surgical procedures needing tracheal intubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Suspected or known difficult intubation or ventilation • Patients with mouth opening of less than 4 cm. • ASA III, IV or V patients. • Patients with history of symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia or increased risk of aspiration • Any contraindication to the use of muscle relaxants.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
â?¢ To find out the success rate of air-Q airway as a conduit for successful blind endotracheal intubation as compared to the Intubating LMA (LMA Fastrach). â?¢ To compare the hemodynamic stress response for endotracheal intubation between air-Q and ILMA.Timepoint: Starting from confirming the endotracheal intubation by the device upto 10minutes there after.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
â?¢ To compare the hemodynamic stress response for endotracheal intubation between air-Q and ILMA.Timepoint: from baseline upto 10minutes after intubation
