Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Any patient who has been given therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest will be included in the study As per our current protocol and practice in TMC, the following are the inclusion and exclusion criteria of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest Inclusion Criteria 1. Cardiac arrest with return of normal rhythm (initial rhythm VF or pulse less VT, PEA, Asystole ) 2. Age 18 years or above 3. Persistent coma as evidenced by no eye opening to pain after resuscitation (no waiting period required) 4. Blood pressure can be maintained at least 90 mm Hg systolic either spontaneously or with fluid and pressors 5. Known time of cardiac arrest

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any patient who has been given therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest will be included in the study As per our current protocol and practice in TMC, the following are the inclusion and exclusion criteria of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest Exclusion Criteria 1. Patient comatose before arrest or another reason to be comatose (e.g. drug overdose, status epilepticus etc) 2. Pregnancy 3. Known, pre-existing coagulopathy or bleeding 4. Advanced cancer with no treatment options for disease control or cure 5. Cardiac arrest in patient with febrile neutropenia 6. Severe cardiogenic shock or life-threatening arrhythmias
