Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients undergoing emergency laparotomy in the six month period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age less than 18 years

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To analyze the adequacy of pain management following emergency laparotomy. Timepoint: Will be recorded at 24 hrs, 72 hrs and at discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To express in percentage the different modalities of pain management that are used. 2. To understand the factors which influence the implementation of regional technique â?? like ASA status, time of surgery, expertise of attending anesthesiologists. 3. To correlate post-operative bowel motility with ASA grading, p-possum score and technique of pain management. 4. To analyze the overall satisfaction of patients with the pain management technique Timepoint: Will be analysed 24, 72 hours after surgery and at discharge.
