Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age more than 15 years APACHE II score more than 10 requiring blood glucose monitoring

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients who were discharged or died within 72 hours of admission to ICU patients receiving peritoneal or haemodialysis and patients without central venous access
