Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients between 18 and 60 years of age of ASA physical status 1, 2, 3 undergoing general anesthesia for major abdominal surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients having absolute contraindications for spinal anesthesia, systemic or intrathecal morphine; pregnancy; advanced cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, renal disease or liver disease, with functional class worse than NYHA grade 2; circulatory shock; ASA physical status 4 or worse.
