Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Our primary outcome will be time to intubation, defined as the time from insertion of either the GlideScope or in the case of fibreoptic intubation, the time when end-tidal PCO2 exceeded 2.7 kPa (20 mmHg).Timepoint: Our primary outcome will be time to intubation, defined as the time from insertion of either the GlideScope or in the case of fibreoptic intubation, the time when end-tidal PCO2 exceeded 2.7 kPa (20 mmHg).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes will include intubation difficulty as recorded by the operator on a 100-mm visual analogue scale .successful intubation on the first attempt and the number of intubation attempts.Timepoint: Secondary outcomes will include intubation difficulty as recorded by the operator on a 100-mm visual analogue scale .successful intubation on the first attempt and the number of intubation attempts.
