Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult patients undergoing VATS oesophagectomy requiring one lung ventilation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: EXCLUSION CRITERIA: 1) ASA physical status 3 and above 2) Valvular heart disease 3) LVEF less than 50% 4) FEV1 less than 60% predicted 5) DLCO less than 60% predicted 6) Patients unable to give a valid consent 7) All patients where Double Lumen Tube or Endobronchial Blocker placement was found to be unsatisfactory . 8) Patients requiring mephenteramine to maintain blood pressure within 10 min prior to institution of ARM.
