Hickmanline /Permacath insertion under local anaesthesia is very painful.patient remain awake during the procedure and can have postoperative recall.By giving these drugs ,we are trying to give them analgesia and amnesia for intraoperative period. so, that it will be less traumatic to patients.

To study the efficacy of DEXMEDETOMIDINE and CLONIDINE drugs for analgesic and sedation during and after the insetion of PERMACATH/HICKMANLINE in cancer patients under MONITORED ANAESTHESIA CARE.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Grade I , II ,III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 weight more than 90 kg 2 not able to understand the use of patient controlled analgesic device. 3 renal dysfunction(serum creatinine 1.5) 4 history of any liver disease 5 prolonged use of analgesics 6 patients on betablocker 7 psychiatric illness 8 chronic alcohol abuse 9 patient with heart block 10 patient who had received sedation before the start of procedure
