ICU patients have sleep problem because of disturbances like light and noise.This study will help to evaluate the effectiveness of ear plugs and eye mask which will apply on ICU patients to reduce the light and noise and improve the sleep quality.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients admitted in intensive care units of AIIMS and Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma centre of AIIMS. 2. Subjects who are conscious and able to communicate in English and Hindi. 3. Subjects who are willing to participate. 4. Subjects who are hospitalized for more than 2 days.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects with following conditions will be excluded from the study: 1. With ear injury, hearing impairment, eye disease or injuries, phlebitis or cellulitis, blood clots, contagious skin conditions, eczema and other skin lesions, high fever, mental impairment, chronic condition and unconscious. 2. On mechanical ventilators. 3. Not willing to participate in study. 4. Taking medication for sleep.
