Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Women with singleton pregnancy 2. POG between 12 to 34 weeks 3. Diabetes not controlled after 1 week of MNT

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with Type 1 diabetes 2. Severe hyperglycemia FBG >250 mg/dl 3. Patients with contraindications to metformin 4. Women in labour or ruptured membranes 5. Unwillingness to participate
