Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This is an observational study which will be conducted in the head and neck outpatient department (OPD) of Tata Memorial Hospital. All patients presenting to the head and neck OPD will be informed about the study and if they are willing to participate in the study, written informed consent will be obtained. A set of questions will be asked to patient in the form of a questionnaire. The patientâ??s responses will be recorded by a competent person, designated by the principal investigator. The data obtained from the questionnaire will be collated and analyzed.

To study the prevalence of different types of tobacco consumption in patients with cancer of the head and neck.Timepoint: one time at the first entry of trial

MeasureTime frame
1)To study if there is an association between the form in which tobacco is consumed with the location in the head and neck at which cancer develops. 2)To study if there is an association between the tobacco brand used and the region in which the patient resides. 3)To study the reasons for starting tobacco use.
