Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA physical status I or II 2. Patients undergoing midline laparotomy under general anaesthesia
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Known allergy to local anaesthetic and/or opioid drugs 2.History of opioid drug , substance/alcohol abuse 3.Any decompensated illness (renal, hepatic , respiratory or cardiac) 4.Any underlying coagulation disorder 5.Any neurological or psychiatric illness. 6.Unanticipated prolonged postoperative mechanical ventilation 7.Incision length greater than 20-cm 8.Presence of midline incision due to previous surgery
