Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Neonates in whom umbilical vein catheter is inserted.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Infants with culture proven sepsis or clinically suspected sepsis before the insertion of the catheter. 2.Infants born to mothers with puerpural sepsis. 3.Infants born to mothers with premature rupture of membranes for > 18 hours. 4.Infants born outside our hospital.
