Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to ICU within the age group 25-60 years Family members in the age group of 25-60 years Critical care patient with GCS score 15. Critical care patients admitted in ICU and are advised to be transferred out to the general care set up Family members of the critical care patient who are advised to be transferred out to general care set up Patients and family members who can read and write English, Kannada or Malayalam.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Critically ill patients who are not oriented and unable to respond at the time of transfer.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Eight percentage of the patients had severe anxiety and 86% had moderate level of anxiety. Forty percentage of the family members had severe transfer anxiety and 60% had moderate level of anxiety. The family members expressed more transfer anxiety than patients.Timepoint: 30days—
