Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All healthy pregnant mother at term undergoing elective caesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Suspected fetal anomaly 2.Medical complication of mother which may interfere with feto-placental perfusion namely, any heart disease, respiratory disease, history of smoking disorder, preeclamsia, gestational diabetes mellitus and anemia. 3.Skin incision to baby delivery time 30 minutes. 4.Uterine incision to baby delivery time5 minutes.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Difference in the APGAR score of the babies of the mothers who received oxygen and who did not. 2. Difference in the pH of the umbilical cord blood of the babies of the mothers who received oxygen and who did not.Timepoint: After delivery of the baby.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Any incidence of NICU stay of the baby.Timepoint: Within 48 hours of delivery.
