Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Pregnant women aged 20-35 years. • Singleton viable pregnancy as confirmed by first trimester dating ultra sound. • Willing to participate in the study with informed consent and deliver in CMCH . • No prior history of chronic hypertension,diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Multiple pregnancy. • Women with prior chronic hypertension,diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism. Who will not follow up in CMCH till delivery

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Longitudinal variations in lipid profile between the three trimesters of normal pregnancy. To see if certain variations in maternal lipid profile are associated with changes in the birthweight of the infant. Timepoint: first trimester sample 7-12 weeks,second trim 22-26 weeks, third trim 34-37 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To see if adverse pregnancy outcomes such as gestational hypertension & gestational diabetes mellitus are associated with variations in maternal lipid profile.Timepoint: Fasting sugars will be done in first trimester, Blood pressure will be checked at each visit
