Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Singleton pregnancy • Previous at least one low segment caesarean section • Any indication for elective caesarean section • Period of gestation between 36 to 41 weeks • Latent phase of labour

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Active labour • twin pregnancy • previous classical caesarean section/ hysterotomy • previous uterine surgery other than caesarean section (myomectomy, hysterotomy, polypectomy, lysis of uterine synechia, or hysteroscopic metroplasty)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is a correlation between echographic measurements and features of the lower uterine segment at the time of caesarean section. Timepoint: one year

The secondary outcomes are a definition of a correlation between the following: â?¢ Numbers of previous caesarean section â?¢ Inter delivery interval time â?¢ Features of the lower uterine scar (grades Iâ??IV) â?¢ Thickness of lower uterine segment in relation to previous caesarean scar Timepoint: not valid
