Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All consecutive neonates >28 weeks gestation, admitted with non-hemolytic hyper-bilirubinemia requiring phototherapy in the first two weeks of life will be eligible for enrollment
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: a. Gestation less than or equal to 28 weeks of gestation b. Non- availability of at least 1 phototherapy study machine of each type. c. Clinical signs of Acute Bilirubin encephalopathy d. Serum Total Bilirubin (STB) within 3 mg/dL of the cut-off for exchange transfusion e. Babies who already underwent exchange transfusion f. Clinical evidence of hemolysis e.g. anemia, hepato-splenomegaly g. Onset of jaundice in first 24 hours of life h. Babies with lethal congenital malformations
