Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All the individuals need to fulfill the certain criteria in order to be considered for enrollment. The following will serve as the inclusion criteria for the purpose • Individuals having Total cholesterol >200mg/dl and/or LDL-cholesterol >130mg/dl and/or triglycerides > 150mg/dl and/or HDL • Willingness to participate. • Dyslipidemic adults not on lipid lowering drugs. Discussions with practicing cardiologists establish that the dyslipidemic patients are prescribed statins only on the basis of a combination of certain risk factors. For this, lipoproteins levels in the â??highâ?? level as prescribed by the NCEP- ATP III report (Table 2) are considered the cut-off beyond which statins are prescribed. Before statins are prescribed, the patients are advised to follow dietary and lifestyle modifications for about 4-6 months. Such patients will be the subjects of the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The following are the exclusion criteria: • Those with liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, CHD or malignancy. • Pregnant women. • Those on lipid lowering drug.
