Intervention1: Extralevator Abdominoperineal excision (APE): the patient is turned to prone position for perineal dissection after completing the abdominal part of dissection.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients diagnosed with low rectal adenocarcinoma (within 5cm from anal verge), admitted under Department of General Surgery Unit 2 2. Planned for abdominoperineal excision with curative intent.
