Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients needing permanent pacemaker implantation with a ventricular lead for permanent AV block

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Atrial fibrillation, LVEF < 45%, Known critical stenoses of main coronary arteries, Inability to follow up, Exercise limitation due to pathological process of other systems, significant valvular heart disease, Percutaneous or surgical revascularisation within the last 3 months, Life expectancy of < 2 years
