Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Free from systemic diseases. Subjects whose gingival scores are moderate and plaque scores are fair. Subjects having DMFT scores 3 and above. Should not have used mouthrinses during the study period. Subjects whose parents give informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Suffering from diseases which might affect the salivary flow. History of hypersensitivity to iodine. History of antibiotic therapy for at least 6 weeks prior to saliva collection at baseline and 12 months. Subjects with developmental defects of teeth. Subjects who are physically challenged.
