Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged less 15 years with smear positive malaria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. children with pre-existing renal disease 2. children taking any medication which known to cause renal impairment 3. children with past history of renal disease

renal function assessment by urine examination, urine sodium, FeNa, blood urea, serum creatinine, serum electrolytes and GFRTimepoint: on day 1 of admission
