Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the PICC tip malposition rates when the catheter is inserted under ultrasound guidance versus when it is undertaken conventional landmark technique.Timepoint: Position of the catheter tip is checked immediately after its insertion with contrast radiography. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare infection rate associated with PICC Timepoint: All the neonates are assessed clinically for sepsis from the time of insertion of PICC to 2 days after its removal.;To compare the longevity of PICC line after both proceduresTimepoint: At the time of removal of catheter; To estimate the failure to visualize the catheter tip on ultrasound in intervention groupTimepoint: From the time of starting of the procedure to its completion | — |
