2 mo to 6 mo : 2.5 ml(10 mg) OD for 14 days
6 mo to 5 years : 5 ml(20 mg) OD for 14 days

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: children aged 2 â?? 60 months with severe pneumonia [who satisfy the World Health Organization (WHO) case definition of severe pneumonia ie Fever, Cough, Fast breathing (>= 50 / min in 2 mo â?? 12 mo and >= 40 / min in 1 â?? 5 yrs) and chest indrawing , requiring admission
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Very severe pneumonia as per WHO case definition 2)Severe acute malnutrition 3)Child with Tuberculosis (of any system) 4)Known case of congenital heart disease 5)Present episode associated with allergic diseases or asthma 6)History of intake of Zinc in past three months 7)With an associated clinical diagnosis of diarrhea
