Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients with the indication for fluid or volume therapy staying at the intensive care unit longer than 24 hrs are consecutively documented 2. Patients included in other treatment studies are also included; however, if these patients participate in volume therapy studies, this must be documented

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients under the age of 18 2. Patients admitted to ICU solely for observation (e.g. post-surgical) or for non-medical reasons 3. Patients with psychological disorders, when there is reasonable doubt regarding their general or professional discernment 4. Patients who are institutionalised upon court or other official order

MeasureTime frame
RaFTA is purely observational (non-interventional) study. Only parameters routinely documented in each clinic will be documented. No additional burden for patients, nursing personnel and physicians due to further examinations and measures beyond the routine is inflicted.Timepoint: Throughout ICU stay of the patient with one time follow-up after 90 days from ICU discharge
