Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: •Pregnant females in their second trimester, who were attending the Ante-natal Gynaecological clinics of Dr. T.M.A. Pai Hospital, Udupi. •Pregnant females in age group 20-35 years, who had signs of moderate to severe gingivitis, with or without plaque or debris. •Patients who gave consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: •Patients who had medical complications related to pregnancy. •Patients who had medical disorders or chronic/acute infections other than dental infection, requiring any kind of drug intervention. •Patients who reported a recent history of antibiotic administration for any reason. •Patients who were undergoing some dental treatment already.
