Conditions

Health Condition 1: null- Very Low Birth Weight newborns between birth weight 1200-1500g from Day1 of life

Interventions

Intervention1: Group A: Exclusive milk feeds 80 ml/kg/day and increased by 20 ml/kg/day to attain a maximum fluid intake of 180 ml/kg/day. No Intavenous fluids Control Intervention1: Group B: Milk Fee

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All VLBW infants with birth weight between 1200g-1500g admitted in NICU.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The following infants were excluded 1) Babies with respiratory distress requiring mechanical ventilation (Infants on CPAP, nasal prong or hood oxygen were included) 2) Babies with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy 3) Babies with major congenital malformations
