Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Non-vigorous babies born through meconium stained amniotic fluid.The vigour status is decided just after birth on the basis of heart rate, tone and respiration.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with major congenital malformation,respiratory distress due to suspected congenital heart disease,consent not obtained

MeasureTime frame
Development of Meconium Aspiration Syndrome(MAS) which is defined as respiratory distress in an infant born through MSAF whose symptoms can not be otherwise explained Timepoint: within 24 hours of birth

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Severity of MAS,asphyxial brain injury,myocardial injury,renal injuryTimepoint: 72 hours
