Intervention1: probiotic supplementation: 180 gm of probiotic dahi for 15 days Control Intervention1: No probiotic: standard diet without probiotic dahi"CURD" supplementation

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Severely malnourished children. As per WHO classification (Weight for height Height for age <85%)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with milk product allergy,known immunodeficiency,onimmunosuppressive therapy,requiring parenteral alimentation and those with chronic systemic disease

cytokines (IL-1, IL-6 and IL-10) and Absolute lymphocyte count (A.L.C), T and B cell subpopulation (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD56+ cells)in probiotic supplemented and non supplemmented groups.Timepoint: IL-1, IL-6 and IL-10 day1,day 15, 6 wks A.L.C with T, B cell day 1 , 6 wks. (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD56+ cells) IL-1, IL-6 and IL-10 day1,day 15 , 6 wks Absolute lymphocyte count with T and B cell day 1 and at 6 weeks alongwith (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19 and CD56+ cells) in probiotic supplemented and non supplemented at day 1 and at 6 Weeks.
