Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to KMC hospitals recovering from a recent episode of acute exacerbation of COPD. All of them had Clinical diagnosis of COPD, based on expiratory airflow limitation evidenced by forced expiratory volume 1 second/forced vital capacity percent (FEV1/FVC%) less than 70 and FEV1% predicted less than 80.16 Self-report of shortness of breath at rest. At the time of recruitment patients were in stable condition as assessed by stability of blood gas values and hemodynamics. None of the subjects were on sympathomimetics or suffer from a low cardiac output. All patients were free from exacerbation for at least seven days.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who had received Tricyclic antidepressants or other major anti psychotic drugs within the previous two months, Aversion of music as assessed by personal interview, Deafness, Cognitive impairment, Uncontrolled hypertension/ hypotension, organ failure and inability to cooperate.
