Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 20-80 yrs male and female patients scheduled to receive lumbar-midline combined spinal epidural neuraxial anaesthesia for proposed surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Obvious spine deformity (physical examination, spine radiograph) 2 Debilitated patients 3 Obstetric patients 4 History of orthostatic hypotension 5 Refusal to informed consent 6 Patients with psychiatric disorder 7 Chronic low backache 8 Age less than 20 years and more than 80 years

MeasureTime frame
To assess as to whether a distinct transitional zone (gap) exists between the inter-spinous ligament and ligamentum flavum. Timepoint: Before administration of neuraxial analgesia via combined spinal-epidural technique

MeasureTime frame
To analyze prospective impact of the study findings in terms of patient comfort, incidence of dural puncture with epidural needle, epidural catheter insertion ease and post neuraxial anesthesia pain (procedural, low backache).Timepoint: 1-2 year;To evaluate the gap in different age groups.Timepoint: ;Whether this gap facilitates clinical identification of ligamentum flavum during epidural anesthesia.Timepoint: 1-2 year
