Intervention1: Resveratrol capsule: Resveratrol 250 mg OD for 6 months Control Intervention1: No supplementation: No supplementation

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Male /female subjects with clinical diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. 2.Age group of 30-70 years 3.Minimum 3 years of duration of disease. 4.Patients with at least 6 months of ongoing oral antidiabetic treatment. 5.Current ongoing medications like glibenclamide and metformin. 6.Patients who have the ability to comply with procedure. 7.Patients who are able to give consent for the study participation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant or lactating women. 2.Paediatric population with Juvenile diabetes mellitus. 3.Type 1 diabetes Mellitus (IDDM). 4.Patients with any other co-morbidity and/or contraindication that may interfere with the study result. 5.Diabetic patients with significant hepatic, renal dysfunction and blood disorder.
