Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women with telogen effluvium. Age : 18-40 years. Normal menses history. Hair loss of more than 3 month. Compliant patient.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Irregular menses. Pregnancy Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) Thyroid dysfunction Patient on iron supplements Androgenetic alopecia Alopecia areata Patient on anti cancer / anti metabolic drugs Recent blood transfusion

MeasureTime frame
1.To estimate and evaluate serum iron, serum ferritin level and TIBG in women with hair loss. 2.TO detect the above parameters in women with telogen effluvium over 3 months and statistically analyse the proportion of overt iron deficiency in women who have long standing telogen effluvium. Timepoint: 1. to estimate and evaluate serum iron, serum ferritin level and TIBG in women with hair loss. 2.TO detect the above parameters in women with telogen effluvium over 3 months and statistically analyse the proportion of overt iron deficiency in women who have long standing telogen effluvium.
