Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients fulfilling diagnostic criteria of tuberculous meningitis based on Thwaites et al 17criteria 2. Patients with ELISA positive for HIV 1 or 2 for HIV positive group 3. Age above 12 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not fulfilling above criteria 2. Patients with cryptococcal meningitis 3. Patients/ attendants refusing consent
