Intervention1: Oral gabapentin: 900mg one hour prior to induction of anaesthesia Control Intervention1: Similar looking Vitamin B complex capsules: 1 capsule one hour prior to induction of anaesthesia

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA grade I and II patients, aged 18-65 years, undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypertension, morbid obesity and severe hepatic, renal, endocrine and cardiac dysfunction, dizziness or frequent headaches, currently taking sedatives or anticonvulsants.
