Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of alcoholic hepatitis with modified Maddrey?s Discriminant factor (DF) ≥ 32

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Improvement in DF with symptomatic treatment for 5-7 days Positive viral serology for HAV, HBV, HCV or HEV Concomitant bacterial or fungal infections Active gastrointestinal haemorrhage Severe cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases Neoplastic and other inflammatory conditions
