Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients belonging to age groups 20 to 60 2) ASA grades 1 and 2 patients of both sexes 3) Type of surgery - Elective lower abdominal surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients below 20 years and above 60 years 2)ASA grades more than 2 3) Patients with spinal deformities, previous spine surgeries, coagulation abnormalities, serious pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases 4)Patients with intra abdominal mass/ pregnancy 5)Patients with documented drug allergy to Bupivacaine or Ephedrine 6)Patients in whom anticipated operative blood loss is greater than 10% of blood volume 7)Patients not willing to give consent
