Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 30-65 years with Killips Class I, II or III at admission for MI, Proximal and/or mid left anterior descending artery involvement by angiography, Left ventricular ejection fraction 20-50% by MUGA.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: PCI done within 2 hrs of MI, Cardiogenic shock ,Killips Class IV, Left ventricular ejection fraction < 20% by ECHO, Impaired renal function ? Creatinine > 2mg%

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the improvement in Left Ventricular Ejection Factor (LVEF) measured by Multi Gated Acquisition (MUGA) Scan.Timepoint: 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Proportion dying in both groups during the 6 months follow-up 2. Proportion requiring hospitalization for treatment of chest pain, heart failure or arrhythmias during the 6 months follow up period. 3. Safety of the intervention evaluated for a period of 6 months Timepoint: 6 months
