Brief summary
This study aims to understand how patients experience pain and anxiety during endovenous varicose vein procedures and to explore which types of distraction methods they find most helpful. The investigator is particularly interested in patient views on simple strategies like talking to staff, listening to music or watching videos, as well as new approaches such as virtual reality. By collecting patient feedback, we hope to identify distraction methods that are both effective and acceptable, which can guide future research and improve the comfort of patients undergoing these procedures.
Interventions
This study involves a single, voluntary retrospective online questionnaire. Eligible participants are identified from clinical records and invited to participate. Patients who received radiofrequency ablation of varicose veins within the past 12 months are eligible. No additional clinical visits, procedures, or interventions are required from participants. Participants are asked to complete a single study-specific online questionnaire assessing recalled pain and anxiety across defined stages of the radiofrequency ablation procedure for their varicose veins; preferences for different distraction methods (active vs passive; digital vs non-digital); and openness to the use of virtual reality as a distraction tool. Completion time is anticipated to be approximately 10-15 minutes.
