Brief summary
This study will explore the efficacy of the mobile health app, cpThrive. Families of children with CP will participate in the study, using cpThrive for 12 months to explore whether this improves health knowledge and impacts function. cpThrive is a mobile app that has been co-designed with people with lived experience, to provide people with cerebral palsy and their families with up to date information on intervention options. cpThrive allows users to search interventions that are relevant to their age, functional ability and current goals and priorities. It includes fact sheets and real-life video examples of interventions. cpThrive aims to improve access to health information, which may in turn lead to improvements in function and participation.

The ‘intervention’, cpThrive, is a mobile health app, a source of information for families to assist them in filtering through the scientific evidence base for interventions in CP. The intervention does not include any direct provision of clinical services or recommendations, but it does provide tailored educational content.. The cpThrive app aims to increase the knowledge of people with CP and their families, by providing information on intervention options. cpThrive has information on over 130 intervention options, with fact sheets and video examples of what some interventions look like in the real world, specificly designed for this study. Search functions within the app enable users to search for intervention options according to their current priorities or goals (for example, moving around or making friends) and prompts the user to answer questions about their function to curate intervention options that specifically suit each individual user. Participants will be prompted to set and review goals within the cpThrive app at 5 timepoints (baseline, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and the 12-month trial endpoint). App information exposure is self-directed. by the participants. Participants from across Australia will download the publicly available cpThrive app on their phone and access it independently (without the support of a clinician or study personnel). Participants will not have direct contact with any study personnel during study recruitment, or the trial period. As such, there will be no specific study locations listed for this trial. At present, app usage will not be tracked by study team, this might be planned for a later sub-study, The app will continue to be accessible after the study.

Inclusion criteria
Parents/carers of children with cerebral palsy aged 0-17 years living in Australia. Children with an NDIS participant ID number. Children whom have given assent for participation (for those with capacity to do so).
Exclusion criteria
No NDIS participant ID. Children with CP who do not have access to a NDIS package (for example, non-Australian citizens) will be given access to cpThrive but will not be eligible for participation in this study.
