Brief summary
This study aims to evaluate whether an antenatal educational intervention, including a website and SMS reminders, can improve breastfeeding knowledge and practices among women diagnosed with gestational diabetes in Saudi Arabia. The hypothesis is that implementing the antenatal educational intervention will increase the rate of exclusive breastfeeding among these mothers.
Interventions
The educational intervention is delivered via a dedicated website designed to support breastfeeding among women diagnosed with gestational diabetes in Saudi Arabia. The website provides evidence-based content adapted from international and national guidelines, including WHO, ADA, and the Saudi Ministry of Health guidelines on gestational diabetes and breastfeeding. The website includes educational videos and written materials that cover benefits of breastfeedind , common chalanges about breastfeeding , everythings women need to know about breastfeeding , gestational diabetes management, healthy eating and physical activity. Participants will be encouraged to use the website regularly throughout pregnancy and after delivery. The intervention group will receive reminder messages via SMS or WhatsApp, sent approximately three or four times: once or twice during pregnancy, and once or twice after delivery. Example message: “Remember to watch today’s short video about breastfeeding benefits.” Website usage will be monitored through Webador’s built-in statistics dashboard, which records visitor numbers, page views and traffic sources, to assess participant engagement with the educational website.
