Brief summary
Due to the growing public interest in body care, and especially facial care, modern cosmetology is constantly seeking new solutions that can more effectively improve the condition of facial skin. One such substance is bamboo bioferment, which is one of the newest cosmetic options for facial skin care. Despite the growing presence of bamboo bioferment in the cosmetics market, there is still a lack of reliable, controlled in vivo studies assessing its actual effectiveness in the context of skin regeneration, especially in mature women whose natural repair processes are weakened. This project, therefore, attempts to fill this research gap by assessing the effect of bamboo bioferment on skin condition after microneedle mesotherapy in a group of women aged 40-55. Hypothesis: bamboo bioferment accelerates the skin regeneration process after microneedle mesotherapy treatment. The study will be conducted on a group of 60 women aged 40–55, who will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: 1) Group B (15 participants) – facial skincare with a cream base 2) Group BF (15 participants) – facial skincare with a cream base with added bamboo bioferment 3) Group MB (15 participants) – facial microneedling mesotherapy + post-treatment care with a cream base 4) Group MBF (15 participants) – facial microneedling mesotherapy + post-treatment care with a cream base with added bamboo bioferment, All women will undergo a single measurement using a proprietary questionnaire and four facial skin measurements using the Lumiscan Pro device and the LAQUA device. Measurements will be taken before treatment, immediately after treatment, on day 7 of treatment, and immediately after treatment completion on day 21 of treatment. The Lumiscan Pro device (PIE Co., Ltd.) will measure epidermal moisture, microcirculation, wrinkle analysis, skin porosity and texture, analysis of superficial and deep discolorations, sebum levels, and porphyrin levels. The LAQUA device will assess skin temperature and pH.
Interventions
Planned study group: The study will be conducted in a group of 60 women aged 40–55, who will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: 1) Group B control (15 people) – facial skin care with a cream base (daily application for 21 days) 2) Group BF (15 people) – facial skin care with a cream base with the addition of bamboo bioferment (daily application for 21 days) 3) Group MB (15 people) – microneedle mesotherapy of the facial skin + post-treatment care with a cream base (microneedle mesotherapy on day 1 with daily cream for 21 days) 4) Group MBF (15 people) – microneedle mesotherapy of the facial skin + post-treatment care with a cream base with the addition of bamboo bioferment (microneedle mesotherapy on day 1 with daily bamboo cream for 21 days) Planned studies: Facial care • The examined women - depending on the assignment to the study group - will undergo therapy consisting of performing facial skin care using a cream base, a cream base with the addition of bamboo bioferment and microneedle mesotherapy treatments. Each woman will be individually instructed on how to apply the base or base with bioferment. The instructions will include the application method and frequency. The women taking part in the study will apply the base or the base with bioferment for 21 days. The surveyed women will apply base and base with bioferment in their homes. Monitoring of compliance will be controlled through the use of patient diaries. o Basic care with a cream base - the basic cream base is a mixture of raw materials such as: water, emollient and a mild pH stabilizing substance, without the addition of active ingredients. The examined women will apply the cream base twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, massaging it into the skin of the face. A cosmetic spatula will be included for its application, allowing to measure the same amount of cream base with each application. o Care with a cream base with the addition of bamboo bioferment (cream base with the addition of 10% bamboo bioferment) - Similarly to the care with the cream base itself, here too the examined women will apply the base with the addition of bamboo bioferment twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, massaging it into the skin of the face. A cosmetic spatula will be included for the application of the cream, allowing to measure the same amount of cream with each application. o Microneedle mesotherapy treatment - a cosmetic treatment consisting in controlled puncturing of the skin with microneedles. This procedure will be performed once on each participant in the study. The treatment area will include the face (puncture depth 0.5 mm) and the eye area (puncture depth 0.25 mm). Each area will undergo 4 micro-puncture repetitions. The treatment will be performed by an experienced cosmetologist (the project's author). Each patient in the MB and MBF study groups will receive one treatment on the first day of the study. The treatment will last approximately 15 minutes. The treatment will be performed in the cosmetology laboratory on the university (University of Physical Culture in Krakow, Poland).

Inclusion criteria
- female gender - age 40–55 years - no active skin inflammation or skin diseases - informed consent to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
- use of other cosmetic therapies during the study period - use of cosmetic treatments such as mesotherapy up to 6 months before starting the research project - taking medications that affect the skin regeneration process - hypersensitivity to the ingredients of cosmetics used in the project
