Brief summary
Nitrate-rich beetroot juice supplementation is predicted to improve judoka's performance in the Special Judo Fitness Test compared to placebo.
Interventions
In this study, elite and non-elite judo athletes will be administered two measurements, red beet juice and placebo, one week apart. Athletes will be randomly selected 2.5 hours before the measurement, elite judo athletes will be given 300 ml of freshly squeezed beetroot juice containing 8.4 mmol nitrate according to sources (Aydin 2019) and non-elite judo athletes (placebo) will be given a drink prepared by adding a minimum amount (50 ml) of red beetroot juice to 300 ml of pure In this study, elite and non-elite judo athletes will be administered two measurements, red beet juice and placebo, one week apart. Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Elite judoka must have the blackest black belt and have at least 5 years of experience. Non-elite judoka must have at least 3 years of experience. Both groups of athletes must not have a chronic disease. Athletes of both groups must not smoke, drink alcohol or use any narcotic substances. Both groups of athletes should not consume drugs.
